The Farmhouse

The Boyer House is the historic stone farmhouse named for the Boyer family, which occupied the house for almost 200 years.

Central Penn College purchased the farmhouse in March of 1999. Prior to that, it had been occupied by seven generations of the Boyer family. The College purchased the home from Catherine Boyer, whose husband had recently passed away.

Former College President Todd Milano promised Mrs. Boyer he would restore the house and dedicate it to the Boyer family.

It stands now much as it stood throughout those nearly 200 years. In fact, during the renovation a second floor staircase railing was restored and a bathroom, which had been added in 1947, was removed. Today, it is the ideal location for your wedding party's preparations and photos, and serves as a centerpiece to a picture-perfect outdoor wedding.

Henszey's Bridge

Henszey's Bridge, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was purchased by the Central Penn College in 2001 and transported from the Lehigh Valley to our campus in 2002. The bridge symbolizes the high quality hands-on education that the college provides to connect students to their career dreams.

A bowstring arch/truss type bridge, Henszey's Bridge is half of a bridge built in 1869 in Slatington, Pennsylvania, that featured two bowstring spans. When that bridge was replaced, one of the spans was salvaged and moved to Wanamakers, Pennsylvania, in 1900 where it stood for a century.

Now, the span serves as a pedestrian-only connection between the original part of the campus and the new ATEC building,

Not only is the bridge a center of the college, it is featured on Central Penn College’s logo. Your wedding guests will enjoy learning about the history of the bridge while exploring the park-like setting of the college campus.
